Downloaded last year!

I downloaded this song last year and am still not tired of it! Wish you'd write another similar piece of earcandy. The balance between the instruments is excellent and you get no complaints. Flawless aside from where you clipped toward the beginning. (about 00:06 or six seconds in)

Misnomer

Despite what the title says, and perhaps your overall intent for this song, I can't help but feel that this would be some badass theme to a badass bad guy building up to some really bad stuff. It's got a nice easy beat without too much complicating it, so nice job on the balance.

Downloaded and faved.

Quieter than your usual...

Good song, and you surprised me by not making it blow-out-speakers loud. Though the filter you put it through could use some work. Of course, this is with the assumption the entire song is put through a high bandpass type of filter.

Anyway, a tad on the repetitive side, but that's what raves are all about.

yezzir. made to rave. feelin the rave vibe totally in this song.

"ish"?

I'm afraid this song doesn't get the "ish" on the end of Harsh"ish". So that makes it plain harsh. And just a bit so on the speakers. (Turn it down, put a limiter on it, and adjust volumes accordingly) At the volume I had it on, I risked blowing out my really really nice speakers. If people want it louder, they'll turn up the volume themselves.

All noise levels aside, it's a very interesting track, and isn't so repetative as some of the other heavy stuff I've seen. Very nice, and it flows effectively. So in short, make quieter but good.

5/5 (Good)
8/10 (Reduced volume, please)

Append to Earlier Review

You might've noticed I put a review on Madness Loop (needs editing). Well it's good to find a clone of it.... somewhere... Anyway you did keep the awesomeness from before and even expanded it further (I think)... I don't know which is the most recent version, but they're both just as good.

this particular song is the most recent version, made slight changes to the vst plugins, and to the beat in the beginning & end for a smoother transition. thanks again, appreciate the review

Nostalgia

Red Alert 2 everyone. Very Frank in the way you use the Orchestra Hit. It seemed to be his favorite as well. Very reminiscent of RA2, but don't call all C&C soundtracks alike. Generals introduced a very (awesome) and different soundtrack than RA.

More review: Good piece, simple and effective. Work on that snare! It gets repetitive. More bass would've also helped, however if you wanted that atmospheric type feel, you have it.

Good song, tad repetitive, reccomend.

P.S. You haven't gone anywhere near the limits of FL Studio. All you've used is stock, I'm assuming. Search for some free VSTi plugins. There's tons of synths.

Hades responds:

First of all, thanks for the review, I really appreciate your comments! Secondly, this was a looong time ago, and my skills in FL have improved drastically. This was made within the first two hours of my FL using, so it's obviously not EQed properly, doesn't use any of the soundfonts which I currently have and is quite a lot simpler than it should have been. Just thought I'd point that out. :P

Once again, thanks a lot for your constructive criticism, nice to hear people take some time to write a little over two sentences these days. ;D

Repetative, Heavy, but good.

As any (decent) critic might tell you, they will discuss every flaw before you the good stuff and if they recommend it or not. Quite frankly, I find this song extremely repetative. It could use a break from the "boom boom boom buzz buzz buzz" theme you have here. Try to implement a second beat sequence with separate drums.

The good part: Very action-y. It would do extremely well as background music to a fighting game of some sort.

Recommend: Yes. For said fighting games.

Odd.

You have some rather interesting sounds in this piece, but it's almost suited to be a Rob Zombie intro. Like a buildup to something bigger. Sadly, it feels like a full minute and twenty three seconds of intro... with no song... It's depressing, really, but I do encourage you to write more on this song.

Live it, learn it, love it.

NightWake responds:

I will make this song better
I fully get what you mean by the whole thing is an intro

Creepy Old Music Box

Sounds like something out of a creepy old music box. I love it!

I just have to know: what key did you write it in?

Sirtroymoon responds:

C Minor, but I borrow a few chords throughout the song from other keys.
